Value is what you want, what you seek or desire. It is a goal, an end. It doesn't matter how it came to be...childhood experiences, a lifetime of religious dogma, 12-20 years in school, serious thought, even just plain mimicry. Whatever you value, you value. We all chase values.
Wealth is how we produce those values. It could be from laborious work, owning a business that sells values to others in open trade, or even simply finding it. It doesn't matter because it's all production. It's something that you do that results in a value of yours being fulfilled.
So what of money? Conceptually it's pretty simple---money is that which denominates wealth and so we may trade the money instead of the wealth itself. The benefits are obvious in a division-of-labor world with specialized talents. The person who has the wealth that you value may not care for the particular talent you have. Money resolves this since we may use money as the "common denominator" that we all wish to have, allowing us to trade with whomever we wish. And so it goes—-how important is money in your life?
Unfortunately this great characteristic can also be used as a deadly characteristic. This happens when some group of people controls the money. As long ago as ancient Rome, silver and gold could be shaved off coins. This allows the people who use the money to have less than they believe, and also allows those who do the shaving to acquire wealth without trading. It was simply stolen.
Thus has it always been with money. New ways are concocted to "shave" it, from fractionalized banking to nationalized control to "mandated inflation" and then finally, the ultimate scam. In 1971, under Richard Nixon, the United States no longer backed its money with any sort of wealth, not even a fraction of an ounce of gold. It became explicitly and exclusively fiat money...totally unbacked by anything except a promise to pay, from current taxes and future taxes.
So whether you wanted to or not, as American citizens you have sold yourselves into slavery and you have sold your descendants into slavery. You have promised to pay an enormous amount of debt. You're told it's 30-40 trillion dollars, but since you've also promised to pay "unfunded liabilities," the number is somewhere closer to 250 trillion dollars.
So you will either continue in slavery to pay that debt and more, or that debt won't be paid. Every person will have to decide for themselves, but you don't have to wonder what those in power wish to happen.
THE GREAT COMPROMISE---"Okay, you assholes can keep all the money--it was yours all along anyway--but from here on out, we're keeping our wealth."
